Dress Code & Etiquette

As our guest, we want you to enjoy a memorable golfing experience. We are a long-established private member’s club and, whilst our style is still traditional in many ways, it happily accommodates a modern country club approach.

We realise that dress codes vary from club to club, so to ensure you have an enjoyable, stress-free day please take note of the following guidelines.

  • Changing in the car park (including shoes) is not permitted
  • The Pro Shop, office or bar will provide you with the access code for the visitors changing rooms
  • The clubhouse has every facility for changing and towels are provided for showers.

On the course:

  • Conventional golf attire is required for all players.
  • Sports shirts other than golfing attire (such as football shirts) are not permitted
  • Trousers such as blue denims, cargo pants, combat trousers or tracksuits are not acceptable
  • Golf shoes with soft spikes are required on the course and allowed in the stud bar and on the balcony.

For Men

  • Shirts should be collared or roll neck.
  • All shirts are to be tucked-in to trousers or shorts.
  • Shorts should be knee length and tailored.
  • Ankle/trainer socks should be white, but knee-length socks may be any colour.

For Ladies

  • Sleeveless shirts are permitted, but must have a collar.
  • Shirts (if so designed) may be worn outside shorts etc.
  • Skorts; skirts and capri pants are permitted.

In the Clubhouse:

  • Please be clean and smart at all times. The lounge bar and dining area both have a relaxed atmosphere, however please be aware that the rules regarding on-course attire still apply regarding shirts, trousers and shorts. Ladies may wear open-toed sandals, with or without socks.
  • Open-toed sandals are permitted for men, however, they must be worn with socks! Men may wear boat shoes or loafers without socks.
  • The stud bar and balcony allows soft-spiked golf shoes to be worn.
  • Clean, spikeless golf shoes may be worn in the lounge.
  • Beach-style sandals (flip-flops) are not permitted.
  • Hats are not to be worn inside the clubhouse.

Course Etiquette

  • Please repair your pitch marks and replace fairway divots.
  • Please use the seed boxes where available to fill your divots on par three holes.
  • Keeping up with the game in front makes a good round for everyone. If you fall behind the pace please allow players through. Four-balls should aim to play 18 holes in approximately 4 hours.
  • Mobile phones may not be used on the golf course except for navigational/yardage purposes. Calls may only be made in a medical emergency. Phones should be switched to “silent or vibrate” mode at all times.

Clubhouse Etiquette

  • Wi-Fi is freely available, however the clubhouse is designated a “quiet zone”, so please switch your devices to silent and be thoughtful of others. Calls should be made or received outside of the clubhouse public areas.
  • Whilst on the balcony please respect golfers playing the 18th especially when putting out.

Our Code of Conduct

We ask that all visitors respect our Code of Conduct at all times whilst at the club.
